OMV, formerly an abbreviation for Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung Aktiengesellschaft, is the major integrated oil- and gas company in Austria with business activities, including fuels & feedstock, petrochemicals, and energy.
The company was founded in 1956 and is headquartered in Vienna and trades on the Vienna Stock Exchange.
Today, OMV supports the transition to a lower-carbon economy and has announced plans to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, in alignment with the Paris Climate Agreement.
In the 2021 Forbes Global 2000, OMV Group was ranked as the 413th largest public company in the world, in 2025 at rank #526. In June 2024, OMV introduced a new corporate identity.
