IndiGo is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana. It is the largest airline in India by passengers carried, with a 64.2% domestic market share as of August 2025. It is one of the largest in the world in terms of passengers carried, with 31.9 million passengers carried in the fourth quarter of 2025. It is the sixth busiest airline in the world, as per data from RadarBox. As of November 2025, IndiGo operates over 2,700 daily flights to 137 destinations – 94 domestic and 43 international. It operates cargo services under its subsidiary, IndiGo CarGo. Its primary hub is located at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
The airline was established as a private company by Rakesh Gangwal and Rahul Bhatia in 2005. It took delivery of its first aircraft in July 2006 and commenced operations a month later, on 4 August 2006. The airline became the largest Indian carrier by passenger market share in December 2012.
